I'm pleased with the quarterly checks I receive from my charitable gift annuity. Can I establish gift annuities through a will for my brothers and sisters?
Gift annuities by will can be a practical way to provide for both family members and our future. You simply bequeath cash or securities on the condition that we make lifetime payments to one or two persons of your choice. Your heirs will receive favorable payout rates, including partly tax-free income, and your estate may save on “death taxes” as well. All capital gains taxes will be avoided if you fund your “testamentary” gift annuity with securities. We can provide you and your attorney with the appropriate bequest wording.
