Monthly Planning Tips

My son Jerome (age 59) is disabled from a Vietnam war injury and is unable to handle his financial affairs.  I have made guardianship arrangements for Jerome and set up a trust for him in my will.  Your organization is in my will for a modest bequest, but I would do more if I could ensure Jerome will be taken care of.  Any suggestions?

You might leave funds to a trustee with instructions to make payments for Jerome’s benefit for life, then pay whatever remains in the trust (a charitable remainder trust) for our benefit.  Income could be paid the to trust you already have in your will.  Alternatively you could create a gift annuity for Jerome in your will and we would make the payments to Jerome’s trustee.
